Who We Are and What We Do

The Tillsonburg District Memorial Hospital Volunteer Association and the forerunner Auxiliary have been assisting in patient care and raising funds for the hospital for over 84 years.

Today, we have approximately 200 in-hospital volunteers and about 300 external fundraising volunteers.  Our Extravaganza fundraiser is the largest “garage sale” in Oxford County and beyond.

In the most recent fiscal year, our volunteers donated over 28,000 hours to the TDMH and raised $83,000 for the hospital.

While most of our volunteers are retired people, we do have an active Volunteen program for high school students and we do have some adult volunteers who, while still working, make time to volunteer in the evening or on weekends.

We are governed by a 12-person Board of Directors (click here to view “Board of Directors" page) and each volunteer area is led by a convenor who is responsible for training new volunteers, scheduling shifts and providing a link between the Volunteer, the Coordinator of Volunteers and the Directors of the Board.

Here is our Mission Statement:

We are Volunteers who enhance patient services and are active in fundraising for the Hospital.

Our vision is to continue to be integral members of the healthcare team enabling TDMH to provide exceptional healthcare services in our community.

In all we do, we support the TDMH hospital values by being:  Dedicated, Committed, Compassionate, Cooperative, Progressive and Informed.
